Fourth Hospitality has strengthened its position as the leading provider of back office systems to the UK hospitality market with the acquisition of recipe and menu management solutions company Star Logic.
The deal is in line with Fourth's goal of providing a total back office solution for the UK hospitality industry and enhances its plans for developing global opportunities.
For the hospitality industry as a whole, the Star Logic deal will provide increased focus and consolidation while meeting the need to provide consumers with accurate nutritional information.
Fourth managing director Ben Hood said: "The Star Logic acquisition will provide Fourth's customers with an even more comprehensive and flexible offering. Whether the requirement is for labour, payroll, purchasing, stock control, menu planning or nutrition, Fourth can offer a 'best of breed' solution for every business critical area in hospitality. In addition, Fourth and Star Logic both have a number of clients in the US and as a combined force we believe we can realise our ambitious plans for that important market over the coming years."
The deal will see Star Logic founder Stuart Wilson remain at the helm of the company while the firm's Star Chef solution will continue as a standalone system although Fourth's future strategy includes launching a single platform covering all its modules.
Stuart Wilson added: "This acquisition provides Star Logic with all the tools we need to accelerate our ambitious development plans. Customers will soon benefit from increased functionality, tighter integration to trade simple and fnb manager, and a total joined-up solution that removes the need for using disparate systems."
